The Long Awaited Post
What takes most people 10 months has taken us 6 years, but we wouldn't have it any other way... although I like to think we have been blessed with 2 to make up for lost time. Everything is going well and we are anxious to see them again. In the first 9 weeks we had 4 sonos done, but we haven't seen them for 4 LONG weeks now. Does anyone have a sono machine at home we could come by and use?
The full term 40 weeks due date is January 13th, but since there are 2 I am pretty confident that they will be joining our family this December, but they have been very patient up until now so I wouldn't be surprised if they were even late.
We should know by the end of August what genders they are. We have been patient up until now...so no, we aren't planning to wait to find out. They are fraternal so we have all 3 combos available.
I think that is about all of the details everyone is interested in.

Garden 2009
These pictures are a few weeks old, but I am finally getting around to posting them :) May was crazy...I can't believe I didn't get a single post in.
Before I went out to town this weekend I was able to pick my first tomato and when I got home I got to pick a second and a huge eggplant. My onions and garlic are done, but I haven't getton around to pulling them. I figure why pull them out before I am read to use them, but I probably should before bugs get them. If anyone has good eggplant recipes please share. I have never cooked it before...I know why grow it if you have never cooked it?...but that was the decision I made...I figured grow a bunch and try a lot of recieps to see what we like. Only cost $2 for the plant. I could have spent $2 on a single eggplant and only been able to try 1 recipe. My spaghetti squash plant it ginormous as well so send some of those recipes this way too please. I don't think they are quite ripe yet, but I have at least 10 that are about to be ready.

Alex's latest projects
I finally uploaded a picture of the bunk beds project...because I finally washed the sheets after the primary activity where we used the mattresses and made them up again. I only have to make them like 3 or 4 times a year and I already hate making the top bunk. I don't think I am going to send a kid to sleep up there until they can make the bed themselves...or at least attempt to do so.
OK...to the new projects.
Alex decided to reface our tub with some wood, add another outlet in our closet for the iron and put up blinds in the bathroom. It is so nice to have such a handyman for a husband...and one that somewhat likes doing projects and lets me do them too. I think we work pretty well together...especially when he agrees that my ideas are brilliant :)

General Conference
One of my favorites so far is Elder Robert D. Hales: Becoming Provident Providers Temporally and Spiritually. I watched it at least 3 times on Sunday. I am anxious to get to see the rest of conference...I just wanted to share the video with anyone that may not have seen it.
Safe Neighborhood?
Tuesday evening some ladies from the neighborhood came around with some flyers letting everyone know that in the past month and a half that 5 houses have been burglarized. One was even my next-door neighbor.
This is the first I had heard about any of them. We have been out of town way too much this last month and a half apparently. Or working too hard :) The burglaries have been happening during the day while people are at work. They have been stealing electronics. Luckily no one has been hurt and electronics can be replaced or lived without, but I guess we as a neighborhood have been marked as easy. We only have about 60 houses in our neighborhood so 5 being hit is a pretty big deal. Hopefully it ends soon. There have been another 8 in the surrounding neighborhoods.
We have put a lock on the back yard gate, started locking the garage door/utility room door...other things we are considering are engraving our TXDL on the 3 things they may want to steal...seriously that is all, but they don't know that until they are already in...and possibly looking into security cameras...although they would cost a quarter of what we would stand to lose, but if we had a camera aimed at the street maybe that would help catch who is doing all of this to our neighbors.
We have that we are on the busiest street going for us...and I have 1 neighbor that stays home during the day so I am sure that doesn't hurt either.
We have a list of items in our home in case of a fire/disaster/burglary so that is one more thing we have that is a plus, but it won't prevent.
Any other suggestions?
On a side note I can't help by recognize how blessed we are. Had we not had our little April fools wind open our back door while we were home...we probably would have gone to work with the back door unlocked...the same day our next-door neighbor was robbed.

Bitter Sweet
Our mazda finally died :( It was a great car and it started having problems back in January of 2008 so we gave it to one of my younger brothers...well he didn't like it so my Dad used it and my baby sister who started driving last month was set to use it. She finally got her parking pass for school and a week later it completely died.
Over Easter weekend we went to the shop and pulled out our stereo system that we never got around to pulling out before we sent it home, but did not want to trash. We took 2 last photos of it. It really was a great car. We bought it when we had been married for about 9 months off of e-bay motors. Seriously we bought a car online, but the seller was in Houston and we got to test drive it before we bid on it. We got it pretty cheap too $6,300 and we used it for just over 5 years and my family was able to get just over another year out of it. What a deal about $1000/year for a car...plus a few repairs along the way.
We really would like to get another boat someday. I know some people think it is a waste of money, but we had so many great family togetherness experiences on it that if we can afford it we would love to share with our children someday as well.

April Fools
It is strange to think we were perfectly calm about the whole thing. I guess we are used to our back door randomly being opened by the wind, but it has never happened while we were sleeping. Usually I check to make sure it is locked before we go to bed, but I guess I missed it last night. It's nice to know that we feel perfectly safe in our house...I think more so since it only chirped once. If it had chirped that the door had closed itself...then I would have started freaking out.
