2 more forgot, but want to remember

Logan and Alyssa both call Alyssa "Sis-sa" and now some of their friends from nursery also call her that too...Alyssa started it a few weeks ago...maybe she gave herself a nickname.

When the kids are trying to do something and want to do it on their own and I ask do you want some help they will reply...no, my help.  seriously too cute.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Time to try and catch up with all the fun new and exciting things these kiddos are doing…of course I know I am going to miss out on most everything, but I am grateful for the things I do get around to documenting.

We had a great December and have had a wonderful new year.  This year was Ruske Christmas so Alex took a half day off the Wed before Christmas and we headed down and spent the rest of the week through Sacrament with my side of the family.  We have so much fun with our family…even just hanging around the house.  We were also able to catch up with the Halls while we were there and it was great.  Sunday afternoon we got to Victoria and were able to stay there and have fun visiting with Alex’s side of the family until Wed afternoon and headed home.  The kids love seeing their grandparents, Aunts & Uncles, and of course their cousins…even the furry ones…after they adjust to them.  Of course they were spoiled by everyone as well.

We gave Momo & Popo a webcam for Christmas so we have enjoyed being able to Skype with them.  The kids got some matching games and Logan is surprisingly good at it…sure we have all the cards facing up…he is barely 2….he loves it…and is really good at it…so much fun to watch him play.  We tried to let him match some cards during sacrament meeting one week, but he is too LOUD when he plays when he finds a match he says “there it is”…too cute :)

For their birthday in addition to the train table we got them a hand me down kitchen.  They are so cute…not too long after they got it Logan went into the kitchen and pulled out 2 oven mitts and put them on so he could use his oven.  I am glad they already know ovens are hot and you MUST use oven mitts.  So cute.  I find them out all the time and have to put them back in the drawer…I guess I need to get them some of their own.  They recently have started not only play eating the food, but they will act like it is real and say hot, hot and blow on it like Mommy and Daddy do sometimes when they share with us.  UNFORTUNATELY they are starting to want to cook in the big kitchen as well.  Alyssa does not get into as much trouble as Logan does.  Logan likes to pull a chair up to the counter and mess with the toaster oven.  NOT GOOD…needless to say we now have to unplug the toaster and plug it back in when we want to use it.

Alyssa seems to be obsessed with the color purple…she always wants her purple pants and socks and jack (or as must people call them jackets).  They learned their colors really fast once we started talking about them.  That was my first clue that she loved purple b/c that is the first color she would say and I really don’t think that is one of the easier ones to say.  Logan is doing exceptionally well with his colors…probably b/c he says them all the time while he is playing he will tell you it is his blue car or his big yellow truck etc.  Which I think is helping him to talk more.  He knows: red, blue, yellow, green, brown, black, white, orange, pink, purple and we are now working on grey.  Alyssa still out talks him and she surprises me every day with new things she says…for instance today she started telling me “I want to watch ironman”.  We will be driving down the street and she will talk about what she sees outside.  The first time I noticed and heard her she said horse as we drove past a PF Chang’s.  On Tuesday this week we were driving past a childcare facility with a big outside playground and she said “I want big slide”…I told her we could use our little slide when we got home.

Last weekend we went to the playground across the street and Alyssa surprised me and climbed the chain net…I stood right there each time and Logan quickly followed suit.  So they would climb the net, walk across the balance beam, and then go down the slide all by their selves.  I CON NOT BELIEVE HOW BIG THEY ARE GETTING.

We had our first visit to Chuck E. Cheese’s…our friend Bryan celebrated his 3rd b-day there and invited us to join them.  They had a blast.  They loved the fire truck ride and the motorcycle, but neither of them could handle the rocking horse…I had to pull them both off almost immediately.  We all had a great time.

Logan can now open the fridge on his own and it is a daily problem…they like to help themselves to anything and everything in the fridge.  Hopefully we can teach him to stay out quickly.  Alyssa has some challenges of her own…she unfortunately is going straight to fussing when she does not get what she wants…we are working on it, but not doing well so far…and she also likes to act like Mommy and sometimes unfortunately she also likes to think she is Logan’s Mommy and will try and spank him or tell him no, but last night when they were getting out of the tub it was really cute when she was trying to get him to get out of the tub like Mommy & Daddy do.

These kids are so much fun!  Can’t wait until #3 gets here :)
