Summer week 6

We did not go to the movie this week...I figured we went to 2 last week and I didn't want to watch The Bee Movie, but we more than made up for it.  We did walk on Monday and then Monday evening Aunt Cyndi called and invited us to Blue Bell on Wednesday.  It is not close at all 4 hrs away so I really did not think we would go, but on Tuesday while swimming I invited our friend Amber to join us and she said she would so Wednesday we headed down to Brenham.  We got to see Aunt Cyndi, Grandma & Great-Grandma who never gets out of the house so we were super excited.

Thursday we did Chick fil A and recovered from the long day Wednesday.

Friday we even included Dad in some action and went with our friends Chris & Amber to Top Golf.

we got our own clubs

watching Daddy and Chris swing their clubs

Alyssa had to do it by herself

Logan let Daddy help him

we were introduced to a new ap today and we love it

great at teeing up a shot

Daddy even got to shot a few on his own
We also started our swim lessons this Monday and had our second lesson on Thursday.  The kids are doing well holding their breath and going under water...they are working on their forward float.  Logan  is comfortable floating on his back (assisted) and they are both working on jumping in and "swimming" to Dad.

I am getting tired just thinking of everything we are doing...got to do it now before we have to pay for the kids :)

Summer week 5

We had a good week.  Monday was our walking and movie day.  This week we saw The Muppets Take Manhattan.

The Muppets Take Manhattan Poster

The kids did great.

Tuesday we swam.  Tuesday night our AC went out so Wednesday we spent a lot of time out of the house...we walked and then went to Ramsey Park in Cedar Hill.  Here are a few picts at the park.

After the playground we went over to the tennis courts and hit the balls a bit.  Then we made our way to the Splash Pad at the outdoor mall in Cedar Hill.  Can you believe we are both over 3 ft tall?

We took a few minutes to warm up to it, but we had a blast...Logan really got into it.

Thursday we went to the Dallas Zoo with some friends.

Here is a nice comaprison picture...they really have grown...too much over the last year.

Friday we took Daddy to his first Studio Movie Grill experience.  And we saw BRAVE.

Here is a very bad before the show picture.

and here is a much better after the show shot.

After the movie it was back over to the Daley's house where we were able to crash while our AC was being replaced.  We had lots of fun playing with their toys.
Alyssa enjoyed the Rapunzel doll, baby, stroller and high chair.  Logan enjoyed the mower, cars, trains and stroller.

Saturday our AC was fixed and home we went :)

2 1/2 years...and a week...not as late this time

So we have done lots and lots of growing these past 3 weeks that Mommy has tried to keep track of a little better than last time.

We LOVE to trace our hands...do it almost daily...I think it started on Mother's Day in Nursery.

here is just a small sampling of our work
We are now locking doors all around the house...once Mommy was locked in the backyard and Daddy was not home so she had to hop the fence and come back in through the garage.  And much to our parent's delight, we have learned how to buckle our own seat belts :)  We have the best conversations between ourselves including one we posted on FB with us arging that we needed a diapey change and the other does not.

Fun things not included in our Summer blogs that we have done are...we were given some balloons and got to take them in the tub with us.  We blew up our inflateable pool and got to watch a movie while sitting in it in the living room (w/o water).

And we recently discovered that one of the songs on Aunt Jenny's i-pod is what we call "The Muppets Song" that we love to actively dance to over and over and over again.

Other things that we like ot do lately are tickle people, hide for fun & hide when we are in trouble, and today we have mastered the front roll.

Kid specifics now...

I frequently call the kids "My baby Sissa/Logan" when we are cuddling...So Alyssa started calling me "My baby Mommy".  She has a princess towel and Logan has a frog towel and recently she has decided that she is a princess frog...and the other day she said I a princess frog...princess kiss frog.  Alyssa decided to do her own little wall painting project the other day...with calomine lotion

And she has started doing thumbs up...and no we have not been Aggie brainwashing her...she has done this all on her own and kids of does a cute little smile along with it :)  And we have to bribe her to take her medicine sometimes.

Logan is having lots of fun too.  When he hears something now he will almost always ask me...Mommy, did you hear that?  While at a friends house the other day I noticed that he was counting the stairs as he was coming down them...at least I now know I am not the only person who counts stairs...kind of wierd I know...and we did a hair cut last week and he did AMAZING.  We set him on the stool, wrapped a sheet around him and put the DVD player infront of him with "Red Cars" playing and he sat still.  YIPPIE!!!  Our own little barber shop.

We both started telling Mommy we are busy when we don't want to do something, and while we are eating we often say this is delicious or yummy.  Last night when it was time for bed Logan said...I'm not tired yet.  And we say we Like it and we love it.  I am amazed at how well they speak and how much their vocabulary grows daily.  Seriously blows me away.  We definately have our personalitles/attitudes figured out.

Summer week 4

On Monday we went to the church to walk/bike at the church, but the kids were not cooperating and no one else came so we ended up heading back home :(  Then we went home showered and headed to the movie theater to see the second movie.  Rango...DID NOT LIKE IT.  Should have walked out and asked for our money back.  Not even worthy of posting a picture of the movie on the blog.

Then we were sick with lots of coughing so we stayed home most of the week.

We did make it to Chick-fil-A on Thursday but other than that we were home bound.

While we were home bound I continued to try and organize my life a little more...and focused on trying to make cleaning the house a priority so I got a cleaning schedule put together and up on the wall and cleaned a lot more this week than usual by far...usually we do the major cleaning when we are having guest come over.  It is nice to have a clean house, but I think the kids got tired of asking me Mommy what are you doing?  and my answer being...I am still cleaning.  I am sure I will get more effiecient and it is quicker/easier to maintain a clean home than to clean a home...if that makes sence.

No fun pictures this week :(

Summer week 3

Monday we walked/rode bikes...and then when we got to the theater they were turning people away...the theater was full.  The kids were disappoinited and we had friends going with us so we all headed to the Parks Mall to the indoor play area since it was already so hot outside.  When we got home we ordered our tickets online for Tuesday.

Tuesday was a success...the kids went to their very first movie at the theater.  Movie: Puss in Boots...Verdict:  they loved it and we will be going to continue attending the summer children's movie series.  We had lots of friends join us and we all had a great time.

Wednesday we walked/biked and then went to Sequincentennial Park in GP.  We did not have any friends join us, but it seemed like a safe enough place that we played and snacked.

Thursday we had Daddy take a day off of work and we all headed to the Dallas Children's Museum in the Dallas Nature & Science Museum.  Verdict:  not as great as I had hoped...but I think the kids had a great time...I remember the museums in Dallas way better than what we saw up here.
