I Love You too

The kids can sign I Love You.  and I love it.  We often reply with I love you too...and Logan decided to sign I Love You and then sign the #2 after :)

Strong kids

As we were driving home from the Dr office for the 3 yr check up the kids were in the backseat...they are on opposite sides of the car and each of them had one end of the big golf umbrella and they said look Mommy we are strong like daddy...immitating him lifting his weights.  too cute.

Another Logan one liner

So for their b-day Aunt Cyndi got Alyssa some more dishes for her kitchen...a princess tea set.

We try not to call it a "tea" set or have "tea" parties because we do not drink tea.

From Mormon.org

Our body is a precious gift from God. To help keep our bodies and our minds healthy and strong, God gave a law of health to Joseph Smith in 1833. This law is known as the Word of Wisdom (see Doctrine and Covenants 89:1-21).
In addition to emphasizing the benefits of proper eating and physical and spiritual health, God has spoken against the use of:
  • Tobacco.
  • Alcohol.
  • Coffee and tea.
  • Illegal drugs.
God promises great physical and spiritual blessings to those who follow the Word of Wisdom. Today, the scientific community promotes some of the same principles that a loving God gave to Joseph Smith nearly two centuries ago.

So to get to the one liner...the kids are playing with the new dishes and I hear Logan say to Alyssa as she is pouring a drink into Logans cup:  Jesus said we don't drink tea.

So our set is an apple juice set, or a milk set, or even a water set.

3rd Birthday

Thought I needed to post some pictures.  The kids are 3 now!

They had a blast at their pirate party with a bunch of their friends.  We handed out pirate hats and "tried" to take a group picture...what a fun failure.  Then after chocolate coin topped cupcakes we played Just Dance 4.

We celebrated 3 - 3 yr olds...our two and our friend Addie who is 1 week older than the twins.

Passing time

Some of the best times are spent while we are "patiently" waiting for something.

Today after church we had tithing settlement scheduled for 3:30.  We are usually walking in the door at home at 2:30 and the kids are tired and ready or almost ready for naps.  I knew I didn't want to bring them home have them fall asleep on the way home just to turn around and get them up so we could go back to church 40 minutes later so we stayed and waited.

First, we passed time by going to the truck to get the snacks I brought to try and help pass the time.  Then, we went inside for a little while and visited with friends and were bribed with candy.  This got us up to about 3:00.  We still had about 30 minutes to go and we were done with snacks and ready to go home so we went outside.

It was a beautiful windy afternoon.  The kids were chasing after the flying leaves...then they were lifting leaves above their heads and letting go to set them into flight...then they started running around the trees...then they began climbing the trees and swinging from the one branch Logan and Alyssa (assisted) could reach...finally we had a nice walk around the building singing "I Am a Child of God" since they will be in primary in a few weeks I figured it isn't too early to familarize them with more than just the first verse of the song.

We survived and experienced lots of fun new activities.

We can spell our names

Mommy has always sung our names to us in the tune of bingo and now we can spell them ourselves.

There is a boy who has a name and Logan is his name-o
L-O-G-A-N
L-O-G-A-N
L-O-G-A-N
and Logan is his name-o

There is a girl who has a name and Alyssa is her name-o
A-L-Y-SS-A
A-L-Y-SS-A
A-L-Y-SS-A
and Alyssa is her name-o

We also do a Mommy and Daddy version

There is a (Dad/Mom) who has a (boy/Girl) and (Daddy/Mommy) is (his/her) name-o
