10 months already?

I probably say this every time, but I CAN NOT BELIEVE they are 10 months already. They are growing WAY TOO FAST.

Logan has a whopping 5 teeth now. The last 3 (all on top) exploded almost all at once. He has started putting things on his head which tells us that we have clearly been putting too many things on his head and that is what we have taught him to do. Since his last dermo visit his eczema has been so much better...I think we are finally understanding how to take care of him...of course as I write this he is starting to get red, but it is because he is drooling a lot the last 2 days...more teeth perhaps? Thanks to Uncle Stephen Logan is now a pro at the stairs. I think he may be an engineer or do something that takes some brains and hands because he always seems to be trying to figure out how things work and when he is climbing the stairs he gives each one of them a few hits to make sure they are structurally sound before advancing. He started showing a little interest in standing up about 2 weeks or so ago. When you tell him "big boy stand up" he will do it and then he gets the biggest smile on his face and starts laughing. He is so proud of himself. It is so much fun being able to tell they know what they are doing now. As of last night he is up to about 3-4 steps. He has figured out how to wave and has even created his own unique way of clapping. He holds one hand out in front of him palm down then claps it with his other hand. This is actually progress he used to clap by clapping one hand on his leg. He likes singing row-row-row your boat with rowing actions. Recently he has started making faces. They frequently appear while he is eating he will wrinkle his nose almost in disgust...even though he enjoys the food. He has also learned how to do a fishy face with his mouth...not sure where he got that from.

Alyssa is undoubtedly officially beyond any doubt now walking. The only time you will see her crawl is after she has fallen and she is crawling to the nearest anything or anyone to stand back up. She just gets faster and more steady every day. She is almost always carrying something while she walks or chewing on something...what a multitasker...I do know where she gets that from :) I think that makes her feel like a big girl. She has her 2 bottom teeth now and is not showing signs of anymore anytime soon which I am fine with...she can be quite a bear when she is not feeling well, but when she is feeling well she claps all the time now even while walking. She loves to sing and play patty cake now...she does not have the rolling or throwing down yet, but that patting she is all over. Mommy is having a hard time teaching her not to pull Mommy's hair. I have already been thinking it is time to cut it, but at times she makes me want to shave it all off. She knows what she is doing and that she should not be, but she likes pulling it and I think there is some jealousy there too. Speaking of hair hers is getting longer and she wears bows all the time...at least when we leave the house and Mom is enjoying making them for her and Logan...well he already needs a hair cut, but I am trying to hold out until his first b-day. We will see. They are getting so smart. The other day Alyssa must have dropped a toy and she bent down and looked under the couch for it and then reached in and got it.

Since the walking began we decided to expand their play area to include not only the living room, but the kitchen, dining room and the entry hall. So pretty much they have taken over the house...except the bedrooms and bathrooms and utility room. And if I do not barricade the hall to the rooms or close the other doors they are all over wherever they can get. They seem to be happier with the more area to roam, but my house has never looked this messy before. TOYS EVERYWHERE, but it is not only the toys they are so strong now that they are using any chair that they can get their hands on and playing musical chairs with them. We have dining chairs in the entry, high chairs in the living room and kitchen chairs in the actual kitchen instead of the breakfast area. Now that they are in the kitchen at will they have figured out that the oven glass makes a great mirror and that they can open the drawer underneath it. Mommy needs to figure out how to keep it closed because I know they are going to pinch their fingers in it soon...just like they do with the drawers on the entertainment center and in Mom & Dad's new closet. We finally broke down and screwed in the cabinet door safety latches...of which one I must not have secured correctly because they can get it open. So needless to say we have begun the constant rearranging of furniture/decorations as those cute little hands continue to reach further and further back and higher and higher up.

They are beginning to imitate us more and more. Sometimes they try and feed us like we feed them and they will put blankets over us to play peek-a-boo, and put things on our heads too to laugh. They are still constantly looking at themselves in the mirror. We have a little caboodle like box with a mirror in it that we use for the toys and I always catch them playing with it...they totally get that they can see you and your reflection at the same time. They like our computer screen saver too we have a slide show of Mommy and Daddy running that they will stop what they are doing sometimes and watch. Speaking of stopping what they are doing and watching...whenever Phineas and Ferb starts with the opening song they will stop and look at the TV...apparently Mommy has sung that one to them too many times...and clearly we watch a lot of Disney.

Meal time is getting more interesting too. Anytime Mom drops some food on their tray it immediately becomes finger paint and when Logan gets food all over his hand he likes to clinch his fist and make a squishy sound.

We are starting to really like books and Mom picked up some more at the garage sale for pretty cheap. We also got some cars about a month ago and we like how fast they go on the wood floors.

We have earned a few more nick names over the past couple of months...sweets because Mom is too lazy to say sweetheart. Bulldozer because whether Alyssa is walking or crawling she plows through everything. Chipmunk b/c Logan does not always chew and swallow his food but rather stuff it in his cheeks sometimes and keep accepting more food. Bigfoot b/c we are having a hard time finding shoes for Logan he has tall and wide feet. When Logan started walking he would try and walk on his toes so we call him Ballerina sometimes. Sis is also Tarzan b/c she will sometimes just bang on her chest.
